BLOOMINGDALE — A Vermontville man died in a truck crash after a medical event in Bloomingdale on Wednesday evening.

State Police spokeswoman Brandi Ashley said Alfred W. Clark, 71, was driving west on state Route 3 at around 5 p.m. when he suffered a medical event and lost control of the vehicle. His truck exited the roadway and struck a utility trailer.

“Civilians, EMS and (NYSP) troopers attempted life-saving measures,” Ashley said.

Essex County Coroner Jay Heald pronounced Clark deceased at the scene.

Ashley said this is an ongoing investigation.
