Bomber boys fall to Wells hoops

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid boys basketball team suffered a 52-40 home loss to the Wells Wildcats at home on Monday.

Seb Cecunjanin paced the Blue Bombers with 23 points, while teammate Owen Hayes had seven. Caleb Wylie added five points, Kenny Lawrence scored four and Brendan Murphy had one.

Cecunjanin now has scored 967 points over his four year varsity career. Cecunjanin, who has been averaging 24.6 points over the past nine games, will have six games to reach 1,000, although he is expected to reach the milestone in the team’s next home game on Monday, Feb. 3.

Evan Mutz led Wells with 21 points, while Chase Brooks and Hunter Passmore also reached double figures with, 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Lake Placid will take on the Indian Lake/Long Lake Orange at 6:30 p.m. on Friday in Long Lake, before returning home to face the Chazy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 3.
