This international event, which was last held in Lake Placid in 2023, features student-athletes from around the world. During the Games in 2023, four athletes represented Paul Smith’s College, now the school will expand its number by three.

The student-athleteswho earned their spots on the U.S. team include: biathletes Dolcie Tanguay, Kaisa Bosek, Bridget Reusch and Diego Schillaci, and Nordic skiers Aidan Ripp, Phil Matthews and Jessie Church.

Ripp and Tanguay, both 2024 USCSA Individual National Champions, will return to the Winter World University Games after competing in 2023. Tanguay and Bosek also bring prior international experience, having competed in IBU Jr. Cups and World Championships.

Dougherty was once again appointed head coach for biathlon at the FISU Games. He previously coached biathlon at the Games in 2023.

“We are thrilled to see our athletes recognized on this global platform,” Dougherty said. “Their hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and we’re excited to showcase their talents at the World University Games. For a small school in the heart of the Adirondacks to be so well represented speaks volumes about the support Paul Smith’s and our community provide. We are grateful for that support and eager to represent the college, the Adirondacks, and our country.”
