LAKE PLACID — Tickets for the ECAC Hockey Men’s Championship, which will take place March 21-22, 2025, at the Olympic Center, are currently on sale.

The final four ECAC teams will meet in the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena for a single-elimination tournament with an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I tournament and the Scott M. Whitelaw Cup on the line. There will be two semifinal games on Friday at 4 and 7 p.m., while Saturday’s championship contest will start at 5 p.m.

The 12-team ECAC Hockey men’s tournament begins March 7 and 8 with a single-game format, followed by best-of-three quarterfinal matchups from March 14 to 16. The first two rounds are played at respective schools based on seeding in the tournament. The four teams that qualify for the semifinal round earn a spot in Lake Placid, with the winner receiving an automatic entry into the 16-team NCAA tournament that determines the Division I national champion.

Last season, Cornell captured its 13th ECAC Tournament title, beating St. Lawrence 3-1 in the championship game. The Big Red downed Dartmouth 6-3 in the semifinal round in Lake Placid while St. Lawrence advanced with a 3-0 win over top-seeded Quinnipiac. Cornell went on to beat Maine in the first round of the NCAA tournament, then lost 2-1 to eventual national champion Denver University in the quarterfinal round. Quinnipiac, the 2023 national champion, which earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament last year, beat Wisconsin 3-2 in the opening round before losing to Boston College in the quarterfinals.

The ECAC Hockey men’s tournament began in 1962 with the championships held at the Boston Garden each year until 1993 when it moved to Lake Placid. The 2025 tournament marks the 21st Championship to be hosted at the Olympic Center. Cornell has won the most ECAC Hockey men’s tournament titles with 13, followed by Harvard with 11. No other program in the league’s history has won more than seven tournament trophies.

Tickets for the tournament will be $70 for two-day pass, and $50 for a single day. Those interested can purchase their tickets at https://tinyurl.com/pyhyrzx9.
