Lake Placid holiday ice show is Dec. 17
LAKE PLACID — The Skating Club of Lake Placid has curated a program that showcases the incredible talent of local figure skaters, ranging from young beginners to seasoned competitors.
The “Home for the Holidays” Ice Show at 5 p.m. on Dec. 17 at the 1932 Jack Shea Arena in Lake Placid will feature performances set to beloved holiday tunes, creating a joyful atmosphere for families and friends to come together and celebrate the magic of the season.
Highlights include performances by 1994 Olympian in pairs figure skating Karen Courtland Kelly and regional competitors Dominica and Kalina Sarandeva. Cortland Kelly will be skating to Vladimir Vavilov and Giulio Caccini’s “Ave Maria,” played live by violinist James McDonald, while the Sarandevas, who are siblings, will perform a duet to Sia’s “Snowman.”
