Listen to your constituents

To the editor:

The following is an open letter to Elise Stefanik.

Dear Congresswoman Stefanik:

Now that you are back on the job for NY-21, it is imperative that you do your part to safeguard the wellbeing of your constituents and their families.

As you can see from the tremendous number of protestors who showed up on April 5 at Hands Off! events throughout the district, indeed throughout the nation, people are highly concerned, motivated and angry. The cuts to earned benefits — even when they are indirect such as closed offices and longer phone wait times — and the increased price of everything due to the recently enacted tariffs will drastically impact the residents of the North Country.

The loss of value in retirement accounts has already been a catastrophic blow to many. The policies of this administration have made the U.S. a global pariah and have made all of us unsafe. Those members of congress who have supported these policies are complicit. You took an oath to support the Constitution and were elected to work for your constituents. It is your moral responsibility to do so.

Sincerely,

Margie Gallagher
