Bring on the locusts
To the editor:
Writing in the National Catholic Reporter, Tom Roberts asks if the Trump administration can be Catholic or Christian after the president cut off vaccines to other countries? After Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Charities had to cease many of their programs when run amok Musk took a chainsaw to their funding? Do CHINOs (Christian in name only) care about these people? Are they deserving of their prayers?
At a Trump campaign rally last October comedian Tony Hinchcliffe said: “There’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.” He also made crude jokes about Palestinians, Jews, Blacks and other Latinos. Trump had no problem with Hinchcliffe’s humor, calling the event a “love fest,” and for CHINOs, it was.
Shortly after the death of Pope Francis was announced, CHINO champion Marjorie Taylor Greene posted: “Today there were major shifts in global leaderships. Evil is being defeated by the hand of God.”
Here’s a section of Trump’s Easter message to the nation’s MAGA-oriented CHINO population: “Happy Easter to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheming so hard to bring Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, the Mentally Insane … back into our Country.” Well said, Mr. President. White, hate-filled, assault-rifle-packing Jesus loves you.
A cartoon circulating online says it all. A white woman standing next to legendary comedian Groucho Marx arrogantly states: “God gave us Donald Trump,” with Groucho replying, “Why, did he run out of locusts?”
