To the editor:

The Saranac Lake varsity boys’ basketball team had an excellent year. The team achieved an overall record of 16-8, winning its first sectional title in 27 years. With any success there must come some gratitude.

Thank you to all of the businesses who sponsored our program. Thank you to all of the parents and families for all of your time and sacrifice throughout the year. A specific thank you to the Gillis Family and Blue Line Brewery for our fundraiser and endless team dinners. A specific thank you to the Goetz family for producing our t-shirts and locker room signs. Thank you to the Saranac Lake Police Department for our police escort out of town to the state playoff game (feels different riding behind the lights). Thank you to the Saranac Lake Central School faculty and staff for providing us an opportunity to play basketball — with a special shout out to Jeff for always having the gym ready to go! Most of all we would like to thank the Saranac Lake community as a whole, from having fans in the stands for home games, people lining the streets as we left for the state playoff game to having a packed house at Clinton Community College for the sectional title win.
