To the editor:

Women’s College Scholarship Club would like to congratulate our 2025 queen of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, Patti Suavie, on being selected to this high honor. In 1994, Patti received a Continuing Education Scholarship from Women’s College Scholarship Club to study nursing at NCCC. She is now a registered nurse and assistant director of Patient Services at North Country Home Services.

Our club is committed to empowering local students to achieve their educational goals. Eligible recipients are: 1. Graduating senior students residing within the Saranac Lake Central School District who will be pursuing post-secondary college or technical programs. 2. Continuing Education scholarships are awarded to eligible Franklin and Essex County residents, who after an absence from formal education, wish to upgrade their skills through traditional college programs, technical certification or other career-enhancing educational programs. We wish to extend our thanks to our many supporters who see us out in the community fundraising and those who donate through our annual appeals reach out. With your support we are able to pass along those funds to deserving men and women to continue their educational pursuits.

Again, congratulations to Queen Patti as you continue your reign. We hope you have a wonderful year representing Saranac Lake.
