Arts alliance promotes public art

To the editor:

The Lake Placid/North Elba Arts Alliance is so excited to see the amazing murals at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort.

It has been the mission of the arts alliance to promote public art throughout our community. That is why we are so proud to have helped foster the partnership between artist Hannah Williams and the Golden Arrow to create these two beautiful pieces of art that truly enhance our community. Thank you to both Hannah and the Holderied family for your vision and support of public art.

It is our hope that we can help make more of these connections going forward to continue the growth of public art in Lake Placid and North Elba.

The Arts Alliance assists in creating partnerships for public art in the following ways:

¯ Understanding the type, style and look of the art you would like to feature, as well as budget

¯ Matching you with an artist who can achieve your goals — we always aim for a local or regional artist

¯ Advance your project concepts through the town/village review process for the proper approvals

If you are interested in having us help you partner with an artist for a public art project on your property, please let us know by emailing hbreen@northelba.org. She will forward your information to the Alliance for follow-up.
