Thanks to the Keets and the community

To the editor:

At our fall quarterly meeting, the ANCA Board of Directors passed a resolution that recognizes and honors the efforts of community leaders who worked tirelessly with many different stakeholders to advance the development of our region’s new Adirondack Rail Trail. On behalf of the board, I am pleased to share the resolution with the community the Rail Trail serves.

We again extend our gratitude to Lee and Nancy Keet, members of the Adirondack Rail Trail Association, and other dedicated community members who moved this effort forward in recent years:

WHEREAS the Adirondack North Country Association focuses on economic development and collaboration with others to support small business, quality of life, job opportunities and equity and inclusion in New York’s North Country region; and

WHEREAS Lee and Nancy Keet have shared the same vision for their hometown of Saranac Lake, the Adirondack Park and the broader region;

WHEREAS their vision has resulted, after years of effort by Lee, Nancy, the Adirondack Rail Trail Association, and countless dedicated community members and volunteers, the development of a 34-mile Adirondack Rail Trail between Lake Placid to Tupper Lake; and

WHEREAS the first sections of the Rail Trail are now open and enjoyed by residents and visitors of all ages and abilities; and

NOW THEREFORE be it resolved that the Board of Directors of the Adirondack North County Association, on behalf of the organization and its members and employees, extends its thanks and appreciation Lee and Nancy Keet, and all of their community partners, for their years of service dedicated to advancing the Adirondack Rail Trail for the benefit of Tri-Lakes residents, businesses and visitors and the broader North Country region.

Signed,

Kelly Chezum, ANCA Board President
