5W Wednesdays
Historic Saranac Lake needs your help identifying the who, what, where, when and/or why of this photo. The weather is warming up and trout fishing season is here, so we’re thinking about some of the great catches in our photo collection. This photograph came from a group of images kept by Game Protectors in the Saranac Lake area, but we don’t know who this man is. Do you recognize him? Let us know by leaving a comment or sending us a message!

No identification for the organist, but the Vitaphone system was installed in the Pontiac Theatre in March of 1929.
(Photo provided — Historic Saranac Lake Collection, 2023.68.1. Gift of Chris Brescia.)
The train is crossing at what is now Pendergast Road, between Ray Brook Road and Oseetah Lake Road.
(Photo provided — Historic Saranac Lake Collection, 2021.1.143. Gift in Memory of William and Tarsilla Schuster.)
This is a photograph of the rectory at St. Bernard’s Church, prior to the fire in the second church in 1967.
(Photo provided — Historic Saranac Lake Collection, 2023.11.53. Gift in memory of the Trudeau Family.)
