By request, we’re sharing one of our favorite historic pet photographs in the collection! This good dog was named Rinky and belonged to Ethel Walker. Walker lived in Saranac Lake from 1913 or 1919 until she died in 1984. She worked as a registered nurse and ran the house at 67 Park Ave. (AKA Walker Cottage) as a cure cottage for decades. We unfortunately don’t know much about Rinky, but Walker appeared to have owned several Boston terriers, as her personal photographs contain many images of the dogs.
