Theodore S. Brownell, Jr.

Theodore (Teddy) S. Brownell, Jr., 55, of Hunter’s Way, Lake Placid, passed away at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Teddy was born on Sept. 25, 1969 in Glens Falls and was the son of Theodore and Nancy (Chambers) Brownell.

Teddy attended school in Hudson Falls and graduated with a regents diploma, as well as graduating from BOCES for mechanics. He worked for VI Enterprises/Olympic Auto/NAPA for 30 years and also worked for the Lake Placid Village Electric Department for seven years.

Teddy was an avid member of the Lake Placid Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed getting together with everyone for the shooting competitions, where he won many matches. He always looked forward to traveling with his good buddy Ricky Morford to the Willsboro Shooting League and the Willsboro Sunday Turkey shoot (where the meat can sometimes be very expensive).

He and his wife Bonnie always looked forward to their annual trips to Maine with family, where he really loved his seafood. Teddy’s passion for hunting lead him and Bonnie to build a camp, with love, in Malone. He enjoyed years of hunting and harvesting many nice bucks. While at camp, he loved meeting up with his dear friends, Tony and Tina, for dinner or to help each other, seeing as they had a camp nearby.

Teddy loved catching up with family and friends. He always would lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a very giving person with a big heart. Most of all, he loved his “Bon.” Bonnie wants all to know that he was the best husband and buddy ever. Ted and Bonnie would be celebrating 29 years of marriage in September.

Bonnie and Ted would like to thank all their dear friends, co-workers and family for all their love and support over the years and during the time of his illness. They always felt they had the best neighbors ever in the Peck family and Pudge and Kelly Conway.

The Brownells would like to thank the entire staff at AMC for the care and compassion shown to Teddy and Bonnie during his illness. Especially to Dr. Mastriani and his amazing team in the oncology department.

Teddy is survived by his wife Bonnie, his mother Nancy, his sister Christine, his nephew Erik and his brother-in-law Kari. He is also survived by his extended family here and North of the border, who he loved so much.

He was predeceased by his father Theodore S. Brownell, Sr.; one sister, Terry Brownell; and one niece, Samantha Morrison.

At Teddy’s request, there will be no services held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lake Placid Fish and Game Club, P.O. Box 292, Lake Placid, NY 12946. The M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.
