Michael Paul Poirier

Michael Paul Poirier, 46, of Tupper Lake, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 in Burlington, Veront. Michael was born on Jan. 15, 1979 to Beverly (Wood) Bombard and Paul Emile Poirier. He attended Tupper Lake High School and graduated in 1999.

After graduation, Michael moved to Saranac Lake and worked at Price Chopper in Lake Placid for several years where he had mastered the art of bagging groceries and greeting customers with his infectious smile and his hugs that he gave to so many whether he knew you are not.

Michael had many challenges in life, only weighing 2 pounds at birth, being diagnosed with cancer when he was a teen and overcoming that, along with various other health challenges. Through these challenges, Michael always remained happy and loved meeting new people.

Michael was predeceased by his mother Beverly Bombard, his father Paul E. Poirier and his stepfather Marvin E. Bombard.

He is survived by his brother Paul Poirier and his wife Grace (Bowen) Poirier of Rhoadesville, Virginia and niece Laura Poirier and nephew Paul Poirier of Rhoadesville. He also leaves behind his loving cat Mittens, whom he spoiled like a child. He is also survived by many aunts, cncles and cousins who will deeply miss him.

Visitation will be held at Frary Funeral Home of Tupper Lake on March 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. A graveside service will take place in the spring at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
