Marion Sileo

Services have been scheduled at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid for Marion (Ruderman) Sileo, 87, who died Saturday, March 1, 2025 in Lake Placid.

Born on July 19, 1937 in Reading, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Marion (Warren) Ruderman and Maurice Ruderman.

Marion and her husband James owned and operated “Jimmy’s Eating & Drinking Place” in Lake Placid from 1975-1988.

Marion was the devoted wife of James for 50 years (who predeceased her on May 2, 2007); a fantastic mother of three children, Tracy, Scott and Benjamin Sileo; grandmother to Maxwell Pass, Brandi Pass and Benjamin Sileo; and great grandmother to Mason and Ellie Gilman.

We have innumerable memories of our family of five in Lake Placid; at the Lake Placid Club; being part of the St. Agnes Church and School community; running the family bar and restaurant; as well as family gatherings and trips.

After the sale of Jimmy’s, Marion and Jimmy were snow birds to Naples, Florida and in the summer ran the Craig Wood Golf Club restaurant and bar in Lake Placid for several summers.

At the time of her death, Marion was survived by her sons, Scott (Lake Placid) and Benjamin (New York). Marion was predeceased by her daughter Tracy (May 8, 2007), as well as sisters Beatrice and Nancy, and brothers Maxwell, Joseph and Allan.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, please direct donations to Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service or High Peaks Hospice in her memory.
