Vincent T. Pagano
Vincent T. Pagano, RPh, PhD, 93, passed away on Dec. 15, 2025.
He was born in 1931 to Mary (Busardo) Pagano and Isidoro Pagano in Lodi, New Jersey.
Vincent was a lifelong learner and greatly valued his career in Pharmacology. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from St. John’s University, his Master of Science in Pharmacology from St. John’s University, College of Pharmacy and his PhD from New York Medical College Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Vincent began his career at the U.S. Naval Hospital Pharmacy in Oakland, California in 1955. After working for many years as a community pharmacist, in 1974 he was called to a career in teaching. As Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the SUNY, College of Optometry in New York City he developed and taught courses in General Pharmacology and Ocular Pharmacology to optometry students as well as continuing education courses to physicians, nurses, pharmacists and optometrists. He retired from teaching in 1993.
Locally, Vincent stayed active as a consulting pharmacist, including 20 years of service to the Clinton County Department of Public Health. He was involved in his community as a one-time Town of Franklin Supervisor and president of the Loon Lake homeowners association. He developed a love for photography early in his life and spent countless hours searching for native wildflowers as well as scenes of nature during each season of the Adirondacks. Vincent was proud to have his photo of downtown Saranac Lake hanging in the registration office at Adirondack Medical. It was a great honor for him. He was a caring man; it was important to him to take the time to listen and understand.
Vincent was a loyal friend, was quick to see the humor in situations and always made the effort to show appreciation.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his son, Gary and wife Sherry and grandchildren Vincent, Matthew and Francesca. He is also survived by son Mark. Vincent was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel, the mother of his children, and his eldest son, Vincent.
Arrangements are being made by Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will be held in the spring along with a Celebration of Life. Family and friends can share their condolences and memories at fortunekeoughfuneralhome.com.
