Patricia Roland Wheeler

Patricia “Pat” Davidson Roland Wheeler was born Aug. 8, 1950 in Lake Placid. She passed away, surrounded by her family, on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at Seasons Of Life Hospice in Woodruff, Wisconsin following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Pat graduated from Lake Placid High School in 1968 and then attended Hartwick College, earning a sociology degree in 1972. After graduation, she headed west to work — and ski! — in Colorado and Montana. She returned to Lake Placid in 1979, working with her father and brother to open a new hotel built to host guests for the 1980 Winter Olympics. It was there she met her future husband, David Wheeler.
Pat and David were married in Lake Placid on Sept. 12, 1981. Together they moved to Peoria, Illinois where they raised two sons, Daniel and Michael. Pat worked at the Illinois Eye Center for 36 years, retiring in 2017. She and David then moved north to Three Lakes, Wisconsin where Pat was active in the community and enjoyed volunteering at the library, reading, knitting, outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family.
Pat is survived by her loving husband David Wheeler; her sons Daniel (Alicia) and Michael (Logan Troxel); grandsons Owen and Wyatt; sisters Ashley Roland and Helen (Jerry) Freilich; and brother Peter (Heidi) Roland Jr. She was predeceased by her mother Ashley Davidson Roland and father Peter F. Roland Sr.
