Kevin G. DeMars

Kevin was the oldest of six children of Ken and Nancy DeMars. Kevin is survived by his father Ken DeMars, his son Kevin (Jesse) DeMars, grandson Silas DeMars, stepdaughter Emma, Keir (companion Simone) DeMars, and his brothers and sisters — Kim (William) Monteith, Keith (Deanna) DeMars, Kraig (Ana) DeMars, Karrie (David) McAvoy, and Kristopher DeMars — and Kevin’s longtime companion, Judy Moscatello. As well as nieces Ashlie (Ryan) Blanchone, Lauren DeMars, Anna DeMars, Emily McAvoy, nephews Andrew (Nathalie) DeMars, Michael DeMars, Matthew DeMars, Andres McAvoy and his faithful dog Bailey, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kevin’s mother Nancy predeceased him in October 2016.

Kevin attended Saranac Lake high school and joined the US Navy for which he received an honorable discharge. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman enjoying water skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing in addition to hiking and camping. Kevin had a great appreciation for music and was a great dancer. For many years Kevin was a DJ and did photography for weddings. He especially loved following the Grateful Dead on tour with his brothers in his younger days. Kevin had a great sense of humor and enjoyed having a good time making sure those around him were also enjoying themselves. Kevin was a free spirit but with a heart of gold. He would go out of his way to help a friend or those in need. His many acts of generosity and offers of help were greatly appreciated by those in receipt.

Kevin will be greatly missed by family and friends. At Kevin and the family’s request there will be no viewing or formal services. Upon his cremation, Kevin will be returned to the mountains and nature he so loved to be a part of it forever.
