Stanley Bailey
Stanley John Bailey, 89, of Tupper Lake, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025, peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and family.
Per Stanley’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 14, 2025, at the Tupper Lake VFW from 1 to 5 p.m.
Stanley was born in Tupper Lake to John and Rachel Bailey on June 14, 1935. He attended Tupper Lake High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1954, where he served actively at Camp Lejeune for two years as part of the Adirondack Leatherneck Platoon until 1956. After the service, Stanley worked as a nurse aide at the VA hospital, now Sunmount, the U.S. Plywood, delivered fuel oil for Rayoil for over 30 years and proudly worked as a Foster Grandparent at the LP Quinn Elementary School for 22 years. Above all, Stanley’s favorite job was loving his family.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Elsie Bailey, brother Joseph Bailey, daughters Sherry Bradley, Tanya Bailey, Lorrie Neumann and Lona Exware; granddaughters Amber Wilczek, Alicia Baldassara, Jackie Bradley, Jamie Jessie, Stephanie Laflamme, Kristina Laflamme and Catherine Lohr; grandsons Shannon Clement and Thomas Morse, and 20 great-grandchildren whom he cherished most.
He is predeceased in death by his parents, John and Rachel Bailey; his siblings Walter, Yvonne, Lionel, Jean Paul, George, Georgette and Gerard; and his son, Stanley H. Bailey, and step-son Daniel Cole, from a previous marriage.
In lieu of flowers, Stanley would like donations to be made to Tupper Lake EMS, the VFW and Hospice.
Stanley’s widow, Elsie Bailey, would like to thank her daughter, Sherry Bradley, and her granddaughter, Jamie Lee Jessie, for their continued love and support and for caring for Stanley in his final days.
