Kenneth T. Norton

Kenneth Towne Norton, 75, of Saranac Lake, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 25, 1948, the son of Julia Heathcock and Ken Norton.

Kenny spent his life in the Adirondacks. He spent over 40 years on the National Ski Patrol at Whiteface Mountain. He enjoyed golfing at the Ray Brook Golf Course and was on the board for many years. When his first bout with cancer took these away, he started turkey hunting and enjoying the pool league. He also enjoyed his time volunteering at St. Luke’s Community Lunch Box. He enjoyed going to Maine with family and deep sea fishing.

Kenny worked for many years at Big D until he left to work at Adirondack Correctional as a plumber/steamfitter and retired in 2011. He was a graduate of Paul Smiths College in hotel management.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Gina Rabideau, together 48 years; his son and best friend Jason; his beloved granddaughter Lydia; his sister Beth of Tupper Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and a niece, Sarah Clarke.

His love of life, family and friends, the compound, Adirondacks, humor and kindness will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2025.
