Daniel J. Lundin
Daniel J. Lundin, 82, of Lake Placid, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, with family by his side.
Daniel was born on May 25, 1942, in Stamford, Connecticut to Nils and Edith Lundin, both of whom he has now joined in peace.
All remember Daniel for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Daniel followed the scripture of Romans 8:28 and lived his life according to his faith. His greatest joy was spending time with his family- skiing, boating, waterskiing, camping, hiking, and fishing. Daniel could be spotted most evenings with his dog running around the block.
Daniel moved his family from Wallingford, Connecticut, where he worked at Yale University as a laboratory technician, to Lake Placid in 1972. He began working with the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center as the laboratory supervisor. After leaving the Cell Science Center, Daniel founded Bionique Testing Laboratories in 1990. As president and CEO, his vision, integrity and leadership inspired the company to become a global leader in Mycoplasma Testing for the life sciences.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Judith A. Clausing-Lundin. The two met while working at the New England Institute of Medical Research and married on June 18, 1966, in Richfield, Connecticut. He is also survived by his son, Jonathan (Ann Marenick); three daughters, Jill (Robert Mariano), Jennifer, (Alex Hicks) and Joni (Robert Gerken); and three grandchildren, Tomas, Annalyse, and Katarina.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the MB Clark Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 and the funeral service will be held at the Adirondack Community Church at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 to honor and celebrate Daniel’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Frederick C. Bitner Center for the Parkinson’s Disease Clinic at the UVM Medical Center, in Burlington, Vermont (https://www.uvmhealth.org/medcenter/departments-and-programs/movement-disorders) in memory of his life.
