Cynthia A. Dukett
After a courageous, years-long battle with metastatic breast cancer, Cynthia (Cindy) Dukett, passed away on Nov. 23 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Jan. 31, 1961 to Theresa and Jack Riley. Cindy graduated in 1979 from Tupper Lake High School. She then attended the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1982. Cindy worked as an RN at the Albany Medical Center in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Saranac Lake General Hospital, and finally at Sunmount DDSO.
Cindy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Scot Dukett, who she married on Oct. 9, 1982 at St. Alphonsus with Msgr. Dumas officiating. Scot and Cindy were not only husband and wife, but lifelong best friends. She is also survived by her 3 children, Eric (Jennifer) Dukett of Broad Brook, CT, Matthew(Amanda) Dukett of Tupper Lake, and Rebecca (Jonathan) Doane of Tupper Lake; 7 grandchildren, Alexis, Elowen, Connor, Jonathan (Jack), Riley, Silas, and Colden. She is also survived by her siblings Michael, Lynn, Mary T, and Debbie.
There was nothing Cindy wouldn’t do for her children or grandchildren. She was the Grammy or GiGi or Grandma that everyone wanted to bake or craft with. Cindy truly loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Cindy loved anything to do with crafting, whether it was crotchet, knitting, or making ornaments with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents and granddaughter Eden Rosemarie Doane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Clement Rimonds officiating. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
