Steve Perry
GREENE, Maine — Steve Perry, 67, of Greene Maine and Lake Placid, passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, at his home with his wife by his side.
Steve was born in Lake Placid on Sept. 15, 1951, the son of Roger and Jeannette (Pettruce) Perry.
He graduated from Lake Placid High School. On May 16, 1981, he married Cheryl Barney daughter of the late Hoover Barney and Joyce Barney.
Steve had a love for creating custom furniture and cabinets, road trips with his friends and taking his best friend Maggie with him on his Harley Davidson.
Steve served in the United States Navy and retired after 20 years of service. He served on the U.S.S. Intrepid from 1972 to 1975. He was stationed in Brunswick, Maine, serving in Patrol Squadron 44 from 1978 to 1982, AIMD from 1983 to 1986, Patrol Squadron 8 from 1986 to 1991, FASO from 1991 to 1995, where he retired.
Steve was employed at Woodworkers Warehouse and later at Central Maine Cabinetry where he did what he loved most, creating beautiful and unique custom cabinets.
He is survived by his wife of Greene, Maine and Lake Placid, his sister Cathy Pelkey of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother and father Roger and Jeannette Perry, a sister Laurie and his older brother Phillip Roger Perry.
Steve requested donations be made to the Dempsey Center or the Androscoggin Humane Society. Arrangements to be made at a later date.
