It’s time to pitch themes for the 2026 Winter Carnival

Theme review meeting Tuesday, pitches made over email, vote April 8

SARANAC LAKE — Have an idea for an epic Winter Carnival theme? Now is the time to pitch it. The Winter Carnival Committee is meeting on Tuesday to review theme ideas.

The committee has set up an email address to field theme suggestions at theme.slwintercarnival@gmail.com. Suggestions must be received before 4 p.m. Tuesday for consideration.

All committee meetings are open to the public to join.

Tuesday’s meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on the corner of Bloomingdale Avenue and Church Street. Committee Chair Jeff Branch said he plans to narrow the list of potential themes down to five on Tuesday. The committee will vote on the final theme on April 8.

There are a couple rules for a theme to be considered. It needs to be family friendly — something people of all ages can get behind. It cannot be a trademarked property. And it cannot have been used in the past 20 years.
