Tupper Arts to host Peter Hornbeck art show and sale
TUPPER LAKE — Tupper Arts will be displaying the most complete exhibit of Peter Hornbeck paintings and sketches in its gallery beginning Thursday, July 29. This show will give the public a unique opportunity to view and purchase original Hornbeck paintings.
The exhibit will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday through Aug. 15 at 106 Park St. in Tupper Lake.
Hornbeck, who died in 2020, was a prolific painter as well as the famed builder of the iconic Hornbeck boats. A total of 136 of his paintings will be on display, over half of which will be for sale. His watercolors capture the beauty of the Adirondack wilderness in all seasons. The show will also include 31 portraits of friends and family and several paintings on loan from private collections. This show is a rare single event to view the large breadth of his art. His last painting is among the unframed work that is for sale.
In addition, Hornbeck boat enthusiasts will have a chance to win a new 10-foot Classic Hornbeck boat through a raffle at Tupper Arts. Information on how to purchase raffle tickets will be released soon through Tupper Arts’ website, tupperarts.org.
