SARANAC LAKE — The Adirondack Health Foundation welcomes John “Jack” Lauroesch to its board.
“As we move into the new year, we’re pleased to welcome Jack to our board. His decades of experience in financial services will greatly benefit our Finance Committee and we look forward having his insight and expertise,” Board chair Heather Bumsted said.
Lauroesch founded Sumner Financial Advisors, LLC to provide investment management services as well as personal investment advice to clients including individuals, retirement accounts, and foundations.
Since 1978, Lauroesch has been part of the financial services industry. Beginning as a registered representative he passed the Series 7 exam in 1978. Prior positions included working as a registered representative at Merrill Lynch, Linsco Corporation and Manna Financial Planning. In 1987, he co-founded Fulton Lauroesch and Associates, Inc, a financial planning and investment advisory firm. He served as the registered principal and chief investment officer. He then joined Nye, Parnell and Anderson as a vice president and senior portfolio manager, focusing strictly on investment management.
Lauroesch graduated from Union College in Schenectady. His first job out of college was managing the Colonie Tennis Club. This led to a call from another club owner to manage an indoor Tennis Club in Olean, where he also served as the head tennis professional. At that time, he also passed the certification to become a USPTA tennis professional.
He has spent many years coaching youth athletic teams as well as serving as an after-school tutor. He served on the board of Kenwood Country Club as the golf chairman. He also serves on an advisory board to Roots and Wings, an after-school educational program, and as a trustee of the Charles Miller Foundation.
He and his wife, Lisa, have two grown children and split their time between Delray Beach, Florida and Upper Saranac Lake, where they’ve owned a cottage at Forestcraft for 16 years.
