LAKE CLEAR — The congregation of Lake Clear Presbyterian Church has announced the appointment of Rev. Dennis Lowe as its new pastor, succeeding Rev. Marty Weitz, who served as supervising pastor. Following a thoughtful search process and unanimous decision by the church session in mid-2024, Lowe begins his role with the presbytery’s full approval.

Lowe brings a wealth of experience to his ministry. His professional background includes roles as a professional musician, soldier, computer programmer, nurse, pharmacy technician and manager. He has pursued studies in music, psychology, computer science, theology, nursing and organizational management.

Lowe has served churches in the North Country for 19 years across various denominations, including the United Church of Christ, Presbyterian and Ukrainian Orthodox traditions. Most recently, he served as pastor of Buck’s Bridge Community Church in Potsdam. His faith journey has been enriched by his service in Episcopal and Orthodox traditions before returning to the UCC. His extensive ministry experience includes pastoring churches in Norwood, as well as supply ministry for sister churches in Crary Mills, Lisbon, Heuvelton and Scotch (Chipman/Madrid).

Rev. Lowe resides in Parishville with his wife, Carol Lowe, a bassoon professor at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. They share their home with two dogs and three cats.

“I am excited to join the wonderful community at Lake Clear Presbyterian Church,” Lowe said. “My goal is to work collaboratively to share our mission and presence with the wider community, serving God and our neighbors in meaningful ways.”
