Nurse honored at Women of Distinction ceremony
ALBANY — State Sen. Dan Stec recently honored Hudson Headwaters Network Northern Regional Practice Leader Melissa Gooley, a registered nurse, at the Senate’s 2024 Women of Distinction ceremony in Albany.
In her capacity at HHN, she oversees health care services across Clinton, Franklin, and a portion of Essex counties and has a jurisdiction that spans facilities in Champlain, Lake Placid, Malone, Plattsburgh, Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake.
Stec, R-Queensbury, selected Gooley as his pick for this year’s Women of Distinction class, hailing her as a shining example of commitment and service to our communities and commending her for an unwavering dedication to improving the lives of those around her.
“It was my privilege to nominate Melissa Gooley for this year’s New York state Senate Women of Distinction,” said Stec. “For nearly 25 years, Melissa has distinguished herself as an energetic leader and passionate advocate. Her approachable and calming demeanor has served as a stabilizing force during periods of change, setting a precedent of flexibility and positivity for her teams. Under her leadership, Hudson Headwaters has experienced significant growth in the northern region, increasing access to health care.
“The past several years have highlighted just how important a role our health care workers and providers play in our communities,” he added. “It was an honor to celebrate Melissa, her significant achievements and the instrumental role she plays in helping provide access and compassionate health care.”
