The Attorney General probe into the Nature Conservancy's business practices has once again raised the question of what The Nature Conservancy really stands for. Public record shows that The Nature Conservancy has accepted more than $10 million dollars in cash from British Petroleum. BP regularly lobbies on Capitol Hill. In 2009, the company spent a massive $16 million to influence legislation. During the first quarter of 2010, it spent $3.53 million on federal lobbying efforts, ranking it second (behind ConocoPhillips) among all oil and gas industry interests. The Nature Conservancy, like Dolce Gabana is selling their "Brand". "Nature" has become a very valuable brand, and The Nature Conservancy knows this very well.
