BLOOMINGDALE - If you sensed a slight population boom in the Bloomingdale area on Memorial Day weekend, you weren't mistaken.
A celebration was in full swing as four generations gathered from near and far at the home of Art and Norma Niederbuhl for a "Niederbuhl Family Reunion."
Although not everyone was able to make the trip, Art and Norma were delighted to welcome all six of their children -?John, Claire, Artie, Casey, David and Margaret -?together with their families and significant others totalling well over 50 people.
Four generations of Niederbuhls gather Memorial Day weekend for a reunion.
As the guests of honor, Art and Norma, married for 66 years, were instructed to simply sit back, relax and enjoy the weekend, starting with a Saturday evening dinner out with their children and spouses at a local favorite, The Belvedere in Saranac Lake.
On Sunday, the rest of the Niederbuhl clan, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, began arriving around 11 a.m. at the family home in Bloomingdale for an old-fashioned potluck picnic. There have been many additions since the last Niederbuhl reunion 19 years ago. The weekend was a great occasion for everyone to catch up, meet the newest members, and retell old stories while collecting new ones to be embellished for the next event.
