To the editor:
On May 27, my husband and I experienced the jubilance of welcoming our third child into the world. As with our previous two children, our new son was delivered at Adirondack Medical Center's Stafford New Life Center. I write this letter not only to express my gratitude and appreciation for all of the people that contributed to this being yet another wonderful experience, but also to bring attention to the uniqueness of this OB department for anyone that may be trying to decide where they want to be when they welcome their newborn.
One of the distinct characteristics of our Adirondack community is the level of personal touch that often comes when interacting with local businesses. We experienced this intimacy with the entire team of professionals at the OB department when we welcomed all three of our children. Our experience was yet again made so enjoyable by everyone from Dr. Ferrando and her team to the nurses (Val, Paula, Marcy, Robin, Christine, GiGi, Sharalon and Sharon, just to name a few!) to Dr. Monroe, and the food service and environmental workers who all took time to congratulate us on our new baby and to ask us how they could make us more comfortable. On top of the professionalism and compassion we received, we also enjoyed a lake-view suite that offered us privacy when introducing our son to our friends and family, along with a great view!
So, from our family to the professionals at Adirondack Medical Center, thank you yet again for all of your hard work, dedication and kindness. We partly blame the OB department for the difficulty after each of our children in deciding that this will be the last one.
