LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Marathon will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday and create detours for traffic throughout town.
Main Street will be closed between Lake Placid Club Drive and Mirror Lake Drive from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m.
Mirror Lake Drive will be closed between Main Street and Harbor Lane from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m.
Parkside Drive will be closed between Lake Placid Club Drive to Main Street/Morningside Drive intersection from 8:15 to 9 a.m.
At the intersection of state Route 73 and state Route 86 at Mill Hill: There will be delays from 8:15 to 9 a.m.
State Route 73/Sentinel Road/Cascade Road's southbound lane will be closed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. between Mill Pond Drive and Old Military Road. Northbound lane will stay open, but expect delays.
Mill Pond Drive will be closed between Sentinel Road and McLenathan Avenue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
McLenathan Avenue, School Street and River Road will be open to local traffic only during the race.
For northbound traffic on state Route 73 entering Lake Placid, head west on Military Road at the ski jumps. Follow Old Military to the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department's firehouse and make a right onto River Street. Make a left on Wesvalley Road and right onto Cummins Road to Main Street.
For southbound traffic on state Route 73 leaving Lake Placid: Take a right off Main Street at Cummins Road and then a left on WesValley Road. Make a right onto River Street and then a left onto Old Military Road, which merges with state Route 73.
