SARANAC LAKE - Saranac Lake junior Selena Baillargeon had a breakout performance Tuesday in a track and field dual meet against Peru.
Baillargeon showed her versatility with victories in the shot put, discus and the 100-meter dash. She capped off the four-win outing by joining the winning 400 relay.
Baillargeon won the shot put with a throw of 28 feet, 8 inches and the discus with a 75-10. She broke the tape in 13.8 seconds in the 100 and joined Brittany Shumway, Jada Meadows and Jacyln Latourelle to take the short relay in 56.8.

Sam Martin was a three-time winner for Saranac Lake, winning the 400 in 1:05.3 and the 800 in 2:40.6. She was also part of the 1,600 relay team that won in 4:35.8.
Johanna Mohrs swept the distance races for the Red Storm, taking the 1,500 in 5:27.2 and the 3,000 in 11:35.
The Saranac Lake girls won the team scoring with 83 points. Peru finished with 49.
The Red Storm boys team had a strong day in the field events. Junior Jason Stack was first in the long jump (17-3) and the triple jump (35-2), while Dylan Kilner took the shot put (36-9) and Joe Atkinson won the discus with a 97-7.
Saranac Lake junior Gian Fontana outran the field in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.8.
Peru won the boys' meet 76-54.
Lake Placid 6, Seton Catholic 0
Lake Placid 5, AuSable Valley 1
LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid golf team notched two more victories Tuesday to stay unbeaten in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference.
Playing on their home course at Craig Wood in a three-team match, the Blue Bombers blanked Seton Catholic 6-0 and defeated AuSable Valley 5-1 to improve to 7-0 in the league.
Junior Kiefer Casler led Lake Placid, shooting a medalist round 38 playing in the fourth position. Pat Kane had the next lowest round for the Bombers with a 40 competing in the fifth spot.
Competing at No. 1, Bjorn Kroes shot a 44 to split his two matches. He defeated Joe Zalais of Seton Catholic, who fired a 46, but fell to Nate Devins of AuSable Valley, who turned in a 41. Devins had the third lowest round of the day after Casler and Pat Kane.
Also for Lake Placid, Miles Lussi and Ryan Kane won two matches each with rounds of 43, and Lucas Strack picked up a pair of victories with a 46.
The Blue Bombers have an important match on tap Friday when they host once-beaten Peru at Craig Wood starting at 3:30 p.m.
Tupper Lake 3, Salmon River 2
TUPPER LAKE - Tupper Lake's golfers have racked up five wins during the past week to remain unbeaten.
With sophomore Riley Amell leading the way, the Lumberjacks have beaten Salmon River and Canton twice, and Norwood-Norfolk once during recent matches to improve to 9-0 in Section X golf action.
In its last outing, Tupper Lake edged the Shamrocks 3-2 and blanked the Bears 5-0 Monday at the Cedar View Golf Course.
Amell has fired rounds of 42 or better in his past three appearances on the course. Also posting wins while competing in the top five for the 'Jacks have been Liam LaMere, Alex Lewis, Ben Geiger, Josh Pickering and Tyler Clark.
Nick Dukette, Hayden Poirier, Megan Pickering and Ari Bishop have also been playing for Tupper Lake during the stretch in exhibition matches.
The Lumberjacks are back in action today, hosting Edwards-Knox at the Tupper Lake Country Club.
Lake Placid 3, Moriah 1
PORT HENRY - After suffering through a rough start to the season, Lake Placid finally got into the win column with a 3-1 victory over Moriah on the road Tuesday.
The Vikings grabbed a 1-0 edge in their first at-bat but never crossed the plate after that.
The Blue Bombers plated two runs in the top of the fourth and added one more in the fifth to secure the win.
Returning to the lineup after being sidelined with a broken collar bone, junior Ryan Damp scored the Blue Bombers first run. He led off the frame with a single, and then took advantage of two errors to make it around the base paths. Conner Preston notched Lake Placid's second run when he was singled home by Kamm Cassidy.
The Vikings committed six errors in the game.
Senior Shane McNierney pitched a complete game to earn the win on the mound.
Tom Rancour led Moriah at the plate, going 3-for-3.
Saranac Lake 11, Northeastern Clinton 2
CHAMPLAIN - Saranac Lake scored runs in each of the first five innings during an 11-2 victory over Northeastern Clinton Tuesday in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Division I action.
The Red Storm utilized a 14-hit attack to pile on the runs, including the six they scored in the top of the second, to improve to 4-5.
After grabbing a 1-0 lead in their first at-bat, the Red Storm strung together six straight hits in the second to surge out to a 7-0 edge. The Cougars scored once in their next trip to the plate, but Saranac Lake tacked on four more runs in the next three innings to pull away.
Junior Nick McCabe tossed a three-hitter and pitched a complete game to earn the pitching win for Saranac Lake. Seniors Logan Wood and Dylan Gunther led the Red Storm at the plate with three hits apiece.
