LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid softball team scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday to secure a 7-5 victory over Moriah.
Carissa Kennedy earned the win in the pitcher's circle, striking out five over seven innings of work. She helped her own cause with a double.
Junior Liz Bimonte and senior Hanna Potter each had two singles for the Blue Bombers. Gilly McLean added a double.

Lake Placid racked up five hits to push four runs across the plate in the sixth. Kennedy then struck out two Moriah batters in the top of the seventh.
Lauren Brace doubled for the Vikings. The Blue Bombers outhit Moriah 12-7.
Northeastern Clinton 17, Saranac Lake 0
SARANAC LAKE - The Northeastern Clinton softball team turned seven hits into 17 runs as the Cougars downed Saranac Lake 17-0 in five innings Monday.
NCCS pitcher Myranda Miller limited the Red Storm to two hits and struck out five to pick up the win in the circle.
Saranac Lake was hampered by six errors.

PLATTSBURGH - Nzoni Thompson won four events and Andrew Meister, Scott Rossi and Hannah Kaltenbach each won three as the Lake Placid track and field teams traveled to Plattsburgh for a dual meet against Seton Catholic.
Thompson, a junior, finished first in the 200 with a time of 24.2 seconds and the 400 in 57.2. He then joined Meister, Rossi and Conor Garrett to win the 400 relay in 47.9. Thompson's final win came in the 1,600 relay as Meister, Henry McGrew and Curtis Rissberger finished in 4:09.
Meister's individual victory came in the 100 with a time of 12.2 seconds. Rossi won the 110 hurdles in 19.7.
The Seton Catholic boys won the dual meet 57-53.
On the girls' side, Kaltenbach was a winner in both the relay races, in addition to the 100 with a time of 13.5. Kaltenbach was part of the 1,600 relay that finished in 4:30.6. She was joined by Gabby Armstrong, Nina Armstrong and Grace McGrew.
Lake Placid's 400 relay team consisted of Kaltenbach, eighth-grader Camille Craig, Esther Munoz and Jilly Goulette. The Blue Bombers finished in 57.3 seconds.
Other winners for the Lake Placid girls were Lissy Ashley in the 110 hurdles (21.1) and Tatiana Kobe, who won the discus with a throw of 56 feet, 9 inches. Lauren Rossi won the high jump (4-2) and the shot put (23-1/2).
The Lake Placid girls won the team scoring with 76 points. Seton Catholic scored 54.

LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid tennis teams split at home Monday against Northeastern Clinton. The Blue Bombers girls claimed a 3-2 victory while the boys squad fell 4-1 to the Cougars.
Brenna Garrett and Kayla Hudson won at singles for Lake Placid's girls, while Sophie Morellis and Liza Marinis teamed up to post a doubles win.
With the score tied at 2-2, Hudson came through with the clinching win for the Blue Bombers while competing in third singles. She topped Alexa Sorrell 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in a marathon match.
"All the matches were very close and very exciting," Lake Placid girls coach Jon Fremante said. "They were two very evenly matched teams."
Garrett claimed a No. 2 singles win for Lake Placid, topping Aurora Slater 6-0, 6-2. Morelli and Marinis went three sets while rallying to earn their No. 1 doubles victory. They defeated Cougars Andrea Mosey and Arygan Kellison 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Abbie Miller and the team of Sara Babbie and Ashley Boire claimed the Cougars' two wins. Miller won the No. 1 singles match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Victoria O'Leary, and Babbie and Boire triumphed at No. 2 doubles with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Lake Placid's Jasmine Phillip and Rhiannon Paterson.
Nik Kobe claimed the lone win for the Blue Bombers during their 4-1 setback to a strong NCCS boys team.
Kobe earned a win at No. 3 singles by a 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 score over Anthony Piche.
At No. 1 singles, Ryan Marks defeated Georgia O'Leary 6-2, 6-1, and Devan McManus claimed a 6-2, 6-4 win over Lake Placid's David Knapik in No. 2 singles.
The Cougars top doubles team of Adam Khater and Brendan Boutin blanked Blue Bombers Sawyer Chase and Ray Zhang 6-0, 6-0, and Austin and Troy Tetreault claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lake Placid's Colin Briggs and Kyle Kirby in the second doubles match.
