The Saranac Lake Pee Wee hockey team poses for a photo outside the Northtown Center in Amherst during the New York State Amateur Hockey Association state championship tournament earlier this month. The Red Storm earned the No. 2 seed after winning two of three games in pool play, then lost 3-2 in the state semifinals against the Palisades Predators. Saranac Lake won its first game 6-5 over the Valley Eagles (Syracuse) and its second 5-0 over the Livingston Blues (Geneseo). The Red Storm’s first loss came against the Bronxville Blackhawks, 3-2. Tri-Town (Brasher Falls) won the state championship with a 4-2 double overtime victory over Palisades. The Red Storm advanced to the state tournament after placing second in the sectional tournament in Chazy.
