Great turnout for Treasure Hunt

February 10, 2014
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

Following the ever-fun Fry Pan Toss, the Women's Civic Chamber hosted its sixth annual Winter Carnival Treasure Hunt. This year's hunt, the Great Celtic Quest, was one of the largest turnouts we have had.

The women involved have great fun each year, and we always look forward to organizing the treasure hunt. WCC organizes this event as yet one more opportunity for people to have fun and enjoy themselves during Carnival as well as to raise additional money for our mission - to give back to the community. This year we raised more than $400, and ALL of it will be given back to the community through donations.

WCC would like to thank ALL participants, ALL local businesses who support our Quest with donations of prizes or willingness to let us bombard your business for a few hours, and especially the local police department for their support.

This year's winning team was Team Engineers: Nathan Miller, Nicole Busa and Remy Orticelle. The second-place team was David Cluckey, Jacob Heverly, Lance Ackerson and Kevin Dugnay. The third-place team was the Lucky Charms: Angie Yorkey, Betsy Fuller, Kelly Spadaro, Todd Tomaszewski, and Lauri and Dave Salamy.

I would also like to apologize to any teams that were unable to finish the scavenger hunt. Due to miscommunication on our part some teams were left "clueless" and for that I sincerely apologize for any frustration. We would be more than happy to refund any team their entry cost. Please feel free to contact me at nmeyette@gmail.com.

On behalf of Women's Civic Chamber, happy Carnival, and we'll be back next year with an even more exciting scavenger hunt!
