Red Cross helps family after Vermontville fire

December 19, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

VERMONTVILLE - A family of five whose Swinyer Road home was damaged by a fire Tuesday afternoon received some help from volunteers for the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York.

The two adults and three children - ages 6, 4, and 5 months - received food, clothing, shoes and seasonal garments. The baby was provided with a portable crib and linens, and other infant supplies.

The Red Cross announced plans to work with the family to help them more over the next few days.

The Red Cross is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides both short-term and long-term aid for those affected by disasters such as this. Its ability to do this depends on donations.
