Error in local history column

December 17, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

On Saturday, Dec. 7, Howard Riley caused my dad to roll over in his grave, which melted the snow covering.

When my older sister observed this, she wanted to order Memorial Day flowers until her husband convinced her that Christmas is the next holiday.

For the second time, please tell Howard that it was Clarence Clookey in a Branch Dairy milk truck that was hit by the train at the Pine Street crossing. This was verified in a phone discussion with Barbara (Clookey) Burl, the daughter of Clarence. Barbara was unsure where her dad worked, but she believed it was the Branch Dairy. (After all, she is older than the mountain climber phenom, Ronald Hesseltine.)

May God bless all the mentioned!
