INDIAN LAKE - A Pulaski man was killed Thursday night after the snowmobile he was riding crashed.

Gregory J. Labarge, 52, was operating a 1996 Polaris snowmobile in a northerly direction on Crown Hill Road in the town of Indian Lake when he entered a ditch and was ejected from the sled, state police said in a news release. The crash took place around 8:53 p.m. Thursday.

Indian Lake-based state police and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office responded.

Labarge was transported to Glens Falls Hospital by an Indian Lake ambulance. While en route to the hospital, state police said hospital personnel advised the EMS crew to stop life-saving measures. Labarge was pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m. by Hamilton County Coroner Donald L. Townsend.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine Labarge's cause of death.

State police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information is asked to call the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Ray Brook at 518-897-2000.
