Hand Bell Choir performs Dec. 19

he St. Bernard's Hand Bell Choir will present a holiday concert at noon Thursday, Dec. 19 in the Cantwell Community Room at the Saranac Lake Free Library.

Formed in 2007, the St. Bernard's Hand Bell Choir is a group of ten enthusiastic ringers from the Saranac Lake area. It is directed by Michele Tucker who is curator at the Adirondack Research Room at the Saranac Lake Free Library and a pianist and organist for St. Bernard's and Assumption Churches. She studied at the Crane School of Music at Potsdam College, sang in the Concert Choir and played the cello.

The Hand Bell Choir has performed at many area churches, for First Night and at Uihlein Mercy Center. They will perform a selection of popular holiday music including "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas," "Frosty the Snowman," "Carol of the Bells" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

Those attending are encouraged to bring soup or a sandwich and enjoy desserts and beverages provided by the Hospitality Committee. The program is free and open to the public.
