Kay Ann Poirier, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at Mercy Living Center in Tupper Lake.
Born in Rainbow Lake on April 30, 1937, Kay was the daughter of the late William Leo Simpson and Florence Helen (Premo) Simpson. Kay loved fishing, cross country skiing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Danroy, three brothers: William, Robert and Richard Simpson, one sister Janice (Simpson) Arsenault and one granddaughter Aimee Lee Poirier-Curry
She is survived by her sons: Daniel Poirier and his wife Patti (Mayotte) Poirier and Michael Poirier and his wife Betty (Perrigo) Poirier, all of Tupper Lake; daughter Tracy (Poirier) Sheffield of Lake Placid; one sister, Judy (Simpson) Soucy of Tupper Lake; one brother James Simpson and wife Janet (Tallman) Simpson of Feeding Hills, Mass.; grandchildren: Victoria (Poirier) West, Joshua Poirier, Patrick Poirier and Jennifer Sheffield; great-grandchildren: Ashlyn and Levi Benware; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours are scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 with a funeral service being held at 4:30 p.m. at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake.
