SARANAC LAKE - The village will close part of the Sears parking lot and do work on Lake Flower Avenue next week.

Village Department of Public Works Superintendent Jeff Dora said in an email that the back of the downtown parking lot next to Sears on Main Street will be closed from Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22 so National Grid can cut trees in preparation for an upcoming project.

"The parking spaces that will be affected are the ones along the tree line along the back of the lot," Dora wrote.

Meanwhile, village and state Department of Transportation crews will do drainage work on a section of Lake Flower Avenue, between Center Street and Winona Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday and running through Wednesday.

Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Drivers should except delays due to the construction, Dora wrote.
