SUNY Potsdam awards scholarships to local students

The State University of New York at Potsdam has awarded scholarships, grants and awards to 1,047 students for the 2013-14 academic year. These accomplished SUNY Potsdam undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their achievements with support for their educational experience.

The scholarship recipients include:

Kailey Christy of Tupper Lake, whose major is psychology. Christy was awarded the Foundation Honors Scholarship.

Joshua Claus of Saranac Lake, whose major is history. Claus was awarded the Robert and Katherine Briggs Scholarship.

Mark Daby of Lake Placid, whose major is Anthropology. Daby was awarded the Joseph G. Nestich Scholarship and the SUNY Potsdam Transfer Scholarship.

Tina Donaldson of Lake Clear, whose major is Psychology. Donaldson was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Transfer Scholarship.

Emily Gagnier of Long Lake, whose major is liberal arts. Gagnier was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Blake Gregory of Saranac Lake, whose major is liberal arts. Gregory was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Kate Grisi of Saranac Lake, whose major is geology (Bachelor of Science). Grisi was awarded the Mt. Emmons Scholarship.

Anthony Isabella of Saranac Lake, whose major is liberal arts. Isabella was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Katelyn Jessie of Tupper Lake, whose major is mathematics. Jessie was awarded the Darlene Kerr-Niagara Mohawk Scholarship.

Kelly Keough of Saranac Lake, whose major is biology (Bachelor of Science). Keough was awarded the Foundation Honors Scholarship.

Danielle LaMere of Tupper Lake, whose major is childhood/early childhood education. LaMere was awarded the Barrington Scholarship.

-Carol MacDonald-Schmidt of Saranac Lake, whose major is childhood/early childhood education. MacDonald-Schmidt was awarded the Teacher Education Study Abroad Scholarship.

-Amanda Merrihew of Tupper Lake, whose major is special education (Master of Science in Education). Merrihew was awarded the Teacher Education/Annual Fund Scholarship.

-Amanda Moeller of Tupper Lake, whose major is business administration (Bachelor of Science). Moeller was awarded the Sylvia Levitt Angus Scholarship.

-Julia Murray of Saranac Lake, whose major is music performance. Murray was awarded the Althea Kraker Memorial Scholarship and the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Katrina Newell of Upper Jay, whose major is theatre. Newell was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Nicole Nilsson of Tupper Lake, whose major is psychology. Nilsson was awarded the Charles Fowler Arts Scholarship.

Nicole Osgood of Lake Placid, whose major is literacy (Master of Science in Education). Osgood was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Graduate Scholarship.

Sarah Parker of Vermontville, whose major is business administration (Bachelor of Science). Parker was awarded the Mt. Emmons Scholarship.

Georgianna Rickard of Lake Placid, whose major is music performance. Rickard was awarded the Anne Pease Breaky Scholarship.

Brenna Snyder of Bloomingdale, whose major is childhood/early childhood Education. Snyder was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Daniel Sweet of Saranac Lake, whose major is community health. Sweet was awarded the Teacher Education/Annual Fund Scholarship.
