Looking for more Ice Palace volunteers

November 7, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

As the cold weather takes its grip on Saranac Lake, a small group of us, known as the Ice Palace Workers 101, turn our attention to the building of the 2014 Ice Palace. Join the IPW Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Captain Cook's for an IPW kick-off "Safety Meeting." We are inviting the community to come and support/join our efforts in building the 2014 Palace. We are hoping for some new and perhaps younger volunteers.

Every year we hear residents in the community say things like, "I wish I knew how to join," or, "I wouldn't know what to do." This is your chance to ask seasoned veterans of the IPW to answer those questions. We welcome all levels of ability. All IPW supporters are welcome. Especially those who enable our absences at home during the build - they play a key role in our success.

We will have shirts, vests as well as hats with the IPW logo available for sale to help raise funds for the new website. Please join us for a snack, buy a cold beverage, and consider joining a VERY fun and energetic group of volunteers. We look forward to seeing you on the 12th!

Sincerely,

Pat Carnell
