Tupper Lake girl sweeps pageant

October 21, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
Sophia Nadeau, 6, of Tupper Lake, competed in the Angel Face 2013 “Weekend In Paris” Nationals Oct. 12 at Hope Lake Lodge in Cortland. She took home the Mega Ultimate Grand Supreme Title, the highest title one can receive with the highest score out of roughly 80 contestants. She won a Powder Puff Pink Vespa. Although she’ll need mom and dad to drive her around on it, she was one happy little girl to win it, her mother Kate Santana said. Nadeau also took home the Peoples Choice Award, 2013 Natural Model Cover Girl Runner Up and a few other titles plus two 30-inch crowns and 7-foot trophies. This pageant focused on collecting for several charities and two of them were the Toys for Tots and an orphanage in Haiti. Nadeau, with the help of her mom, collected in the town of Tupper Lake almost 500 items for the orphanage in Haiti. Collectively, the pageant girls and moms (dads, too) collected thousands of donations for Haiti and for Toys for Tots, and Santa and Mrs. Santa even made an appearance to collect the toys from the girls. Before each pageant, the contestants raise money and/or donations for charities. Nadeau has competed in pageants since she was 3-and-a-half years old all over the United States and holds many titles.
