ELIZABETHTOWN - State police arrested an Elizabethtown man Tuesday for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.

Andrew P. Mullin, 49, was charged with first-degree rape, a class B felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

Mullin had forcible sexual intercourse with the girl in the Elizabethtown area in March 2012, police said in a press release. His arrest came after a lengthy investigation, police said.

Police said Mullin was affiliated with Shriner and Masonic groups in Essex and Clinton counties. He also was involved in a program for young girls called the Constellation Group.

Police asked anyone who's child was involved with this group or had interactions with Mullin to contact them at 518-897-2000.
