PLATTSBURGH - Nzoni Thompson headed in the game-winning goal in the second sudden-death overtime Wednesday to give the Lake Placid boys soccer team a 2-1 Northern Soccer League victory over Seton Catholic.
Thompson also scored the first goal of the game after taking a pass from Stuart Baird at the 16:27 mark of the second half. The Knights responded in the next 10 minutes, though, when Keegan Frenya scored on a pass from Adam Tedford.
Thompson's overtime goal came on a corner kick. Alex Brandes was credited with the game-winning assist.

Chris Kordziel earned the victory in goal for Lake Placid, which held an 18-12 shooting advantage. Keagen Briggs had 16 saves for Seton Catholic.
The Blue Bombers have beaten Seton Catholic in both meetings this season. They also swept the Knights in three games last year.
Lake Placid improved to 5-2-1 in league games and 5-3-1 overall with the victory. Seton Catholic is 6-3-1 in NSL play and 7-3-2 overall.
Chateaugay 3, Tupper Lake 0
TUPPER LAKE - The Chateaugay girls soccer team kept its unbeaten streak alive Wednesday with a 3-0 Northern Athletic Conference victory over Tupper Lake.
The Bulldogs scored twice in the first half an added another in the second to boost their record to 7-0 in league games and 8-0-1 overall. The Lumberjacks are 4-3-1 in conference play and 4-5-1 overall.
Brooke Dewyea had a strong game in goal for Tupper Lake. The junior goalkeeper stopped 17 shots as the Bulldogs outshot Tupper 23-3.
Brianna Cook opened the scoring with a goal at the 17:20. Ten minutes later she assisted on Chateaugay's second goal after sending a pass to Hannah Cook.
Hannah Cook put the game away at 12:12 of the second half on a pass from Katie Beach.
Kennedy Boyea earned the shutout in goal for the Bulldogs.
Tupper Lake travels to Colton-Pierrepont on Monday for its next game.
Canton 3, Tupper Lake 0
TUPPER LAKE - The Canton volleyball team handed Tupper Lake a 25-17, 25-15, 25-17 loss on Wednesday.
Beth Pearson put down nine kills, Colleen Barkley had seven aces and Rachel Sanderson racked up seven service points to lead the Golden Bears.
Tupper Lake fell to 2-8 with the loss, while Canton improved to 4-6.
