SARANAC LAKE - The Saranac Lake boys and girls cross country teams hosted their first home meet of the season Tuesday as Plattsburgh and AuSable Valley visited.
Plattsburgh swept the competition, while the Red Storm boys and girls each picked up wins over AuSable Valley. Saranac Lake's boys beat the Patriots 24-32 and lost to Plattsburgh 18-43. The Red Storm girls downed AuSable Valley 18-37 and lost to the Hornets 17-41.
The Hornets dominated the boys race, placing six runners in the top 10. Jeriqho Gadway of Plattsburgh set a new course record with a time of 16 minutes, 39 seconds to beat the previous record of 16:40 set by Dan Lennon of Peru.
Johanna Mohrs was Saranac Lake’s top girls runner in Tuesday’s home cross country meet against Plattsburgh and AuSable Valley. Mohrs placed second in 22:56.

Zane Pelletieri was Saranac Lake's top runner, finishing third in 19:34. Max Paul was next with a time of 20:22, which was good for sixth place. Other Saranac Lake top finishers were Adam Branch (13th, 20:56), Nate Miller (17th, 21:27), Chris Merguia (18th, 21:33).
"Our veteran boys crew used their experience to their advantage today and passed other teams at strategic positions," said Saranac Lake coach Joe Merrihew.
In the girls race, Saranac Lake sophomore Johanna Mohrs finished second, just behind Claire Deshaies of Plattsburgh. Deshaies crossed the line in 22:25 while Mohrs clocked a 22:56.
Grace Sullivan finished in 24:37 and Jacinda Riggs wasn't far behind in 24:55 for Saranac Lake.
"The girls team continues to grow in strength and I am excited to see what we can do a month from now," Merrihew said.
Beekmantown 3, Saranac Lake 0
BEEKMANTOWN - The Beekmantown volleyball team used a balanced attack to down Saranac Lake 25-5, 25-7, 25-15 on Tuesday.
Katie Burgess racked up six service points and three aces to lead the way for the Red Storm.
Lydia Bailey had three aces, three kills and two digs and Grace Kelley had five kills and two digs for Beekmantown.
Saranac 3, Lake Placid 0
LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid volleyball team put Saranac to the test Tuesday, but had to settle for a 25-22, 25-20, 25-19 loss.
Taylor Maiorca had four points, six assists and three kills, while Brenna Garrett contributed eight points, three aces, five assists and five kills to pace the Blue Bombers.
Charlotte Stevens racked up three aces and 12 assists and Cassie Smith chipped in 13 points and three kills for Saranac.
Lake Placid 4, Willsboro 0
WILLSBORO - The Lake Placid boys soccer team controlled play Tuesday on the way to a 4-0 victory over Willsboro.
Miles Lussi scored two goals and Andrew Meister had a goal and an assist as the Blue Bombers outshot Willsboro 20-7.
Nzoni Thompson netted Lake Placid's first goal in the second minute of play after taking a pass from Alex Brandes. Lussi connected just before the half on a feed from Meister.
Lussi and Meister each scored unassisted in the second half.
Chris Kordziel recorded the shutout for the Blue Bombers after making four saves.
