Prison provides school supplies

September 19, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank FCI (Federal Correctional Institute) Ray Brook and their Affirmative Action Committee for their generous support and donation to our school following their annual school supply drive.

I would like to offer specific thanks to Jon Hensley, SOI&E/affirmative action manager at FCI Ray Brook, who is responsible for organizing the school supply drive. I would also like to thank Benjamin Hall, Unicor factory manager at FCI Ray Brook, who took time out of his busy day to deliver the overwhelming number of school supplies that were donated. The entire staff at FCI Ray Brook deserves to be acknowledged for their efforts and contributions to this drive, and as a school community we are humbled by the generosity and spirit of giving that the employees of FCI Ray Brook displayed. To say that FCI Ray Brook "answered the call" would be an understatement.

FCI Ray Brook has been donating school supplies to local area schools for more than 10 years. Its commitment to the students of our region helps ensure that every student gets off to a good start and has what he or she needs to be successful. Thank you, once again, to all who contributed to this year's supply drive. Our schools and our students truly appreciate all you have done.
